Jolene Hamann

I began my nursing career in 1994 in the Air Force. While on active duty during my first pregnancy, I was fortunate enough to be assigned to the care of a group of Certified Nurse Midwives. It was then that I knew that I was called to become a midwife. I am now blessed enough to be living my dream — providing the woman-centered type of care that was provided to me.

Since 2007, I have been caring for women as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. I truly enjoy getting to know each woman and family. I am especially committed to comprehensive prenatal care, all types of birth, education, prevention, and well-woman care. My husband’s name is Dave and we have four children – Joshua, Fox, Ryker, and Molly.

I have…
An undergraduate degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX
Graduate degrees from University of Illinois at Chicago

I am…
State licensed as a Midwife and Nurse Practitioner in New York, Illinois, and Colorado
Certified as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board
Board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Corporation

Amy Burgess

My nursing career began in 1999 when I started as an R.N. on a cardiac step-down unit with my associate’s degree. I knew right away I wanted to continue my education and finished my B.S.N. at the University of Iowa in 2001. I then moved to Colorado with my first introduction to midwifery and obstetrics. I haven’t left it since! I received a master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2006. I then moved to Chicago and worked as a labor and delivery manager while I returned to school and received my post masters in nurse-midwifery at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2012.
While in Chicago, I practiced as an outpatient midwife then full-scope midwife in a hospital setting with an alternative birthing suite. When I moved to Colorado in August of 2017, I was fortunate to be able to join Jolene’s home birth practice and continue to provide patient-centered and evidence-based care. My partner Drew and I have three children Andrew, Colton & Avery. We are thrilled to be back in Colorado!
I am State licensed as Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in Illinois and Colorado and certified as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
